UXO Risk Management Suppliers
Ordtek are pleased to list the following suppliers of marine UXO related risk management services. Given Ordtek's independence, we can not promote any one particular organisation nor necessarily endorse work executed.
UXO Geophysical Survey Contractors
Company Name: Bibby HydroMap Limited
Website: www.bibbyhydromap.com
Contact Email: enquiries@bibbyhydromap.com
Bibby HydroMap (formerly Osiris Projects) specialise in the acquisition, interpretation and presentation of highly accurate seabed and subseabed data. Bibby HydroMap are experienced in magnetometer and gradiometer surveys working closely with clients to provide a complete service UXO analysis package.
Since 1997, they have worked with clients from the oil and gas, offshore renewables, submarine cables, ports and harbours, aggregates and utilities industries to provide efficient and cost- effective survey services.
Company Name: EGS (International) Limited
Website: www.egssurvey.com
Contact Email: info@egssurvey.co.uk
EGS offers a proven track record in providing tailored marine UXO geophysical survey services to help mitigate the risks in offshore areas potentially contaminated by UXO in water depths ranging from 0m to over 100m. EGS employs the latest sensors technology and advanced methods in carrying out UXO surveys, including high-resolution 3D seismic for the detection of non-ferrous UXO. EGS's ability of deploying multiple sensors simultaneously enhances object detection and enables highly detailed mapping of any potential threat.
Fugro offers specialist UXO solutions for magnetometer and gradiometer acquisition, processing and analysis. Fugro’s flexibility and innovative approach are market-leading while our experience drives the in-house development of bespoke industry-leading products; including the GeoWing and LMB detection solutions.
Fugro have completed UXO surveys for almost every major offshore renewables operator in Europe, along with other prestigious clients from the oil and gas, cables and construction sectors.
Company Name: Gardline Geosurvey Limited
Website: www.gardlinemarinesciences.com
Contact Email: hydro@gardline.com
Gardline has developed a range of efficient and robust UXO survey packages deployable from our survey vessels operating both inshore and offshore, which can be configured to reflect the requirements of the project. Survey systems are typically configured with a combination of: UHF Side Scan Sonar, a fixed frame or independently towed Magnetometer array, Multi-beam Echosounder and Sub Bottom Profiler. In house data processing and target selection is performed by our experienced Geophysicists using a combination of in-house and COTS software.
Company Name: Horizon Geosciences Limited
Website: www.horizon-geosciences.com
Contact Email: enquiries@horizon-geosciences.com
No two UXO surveys are the same. Horizon understand this and tailor every survey to the requirements of the individual client, and the technical challenges of each site. Horizon’s dedicated survey vessels are fully mobilised with industry standard geophysical sensors such as, MBES, Side Scan Sonars, sub bottom profilers, magnetometers and gradiometers. Additionally electromagnetic sensors, ROTVs and high resolution 3D sub bottom profilers can be easily mobilised for specific projects.
Using its own fleet of dedicated survey vessels, IXSURVEY deploys a large panel of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to detect UXO.
IXSURVEY teams are comprised of highly qualified and experienced hydrographers, geophysicists, oceanographers and cartographers, and because target positioning and data quality control is of paramount importance, IXSURVEY uses only deployment techniques and processing chains approved by UXO experts and adapted for each site specific environmental constraints and history.
N-Sea utilises in-house vessel solutions to design and acquire multi-sensor, high resolution surveys. N-Sea provide seamless survey from transition zone to deep water, accurately positioning potential UXO both at seabed and buried. Highly experienced geoscientists employ specialised software and techniques to model anomalies, discriminating potential UXO items from geological or background effects. In-field processing enables our teams to work with clients to re-engineer at sea, mitigating risk through avoidance and reducing cost by avoiding subsequent re-survey mobilisations.
An increased expansion of offshore installations has required a new and innovative approach to UXO detection and clearance. As part of the risk assessment for all submarine installations, MMT offers detection, verification, excavation and clearance services for UXO’s, both on or below the seabed surface and in a cost-effective combination with their geophysical, geotechnical and environmental services that is conducted from MMT's vessels and marine survey specialists.
Company Name: Port of London Authority
Website: www.pla.co.uk
Contact Email: john.dillon-leetch@pla.co.uk
Responding to the demand by Clients to reduce the UXO risk, particularly in challenging areas such as the Thames, the PLA Hydrographic Service, in conjunction with key partners, has introduced a new UXO survey comprised of :
- a 3D CHIRP survey
- a transverse gradiometer survey
- a high frequency 900KHz sidescan sonar survey
- a high frequency 400KHz Multibeam Echo Sounder survey
These four data sets combined, particularly the introduction of the 3D CHIRP, give a step change in detection capabilities.
Company Name: SAND Geophysics Limited
